History

Where it all began

It all started way back, when Bob Thornley Photographic Studios, who's primary focus was glamour photography and magazine shoots, decided to diversify and try its hand at Corporate Audio Visual Production.

Coming off the back of his highly successful project "A Day in the Life of South Africa" – which was a joint venture with Mr Colin Hall and the Society for the Blind in SA – Bob began using his 35mm expertise and created 9 projector AV Shows for some rather large corporate companies. The success thereof led the company to become one of only a handful of Audio Visual companies in the country providing this unique service.

A project that became very close to our hearts was the production of the TB Free Campaign filmed around South Africa with a leading Pharmaceutical company. It was hosted by a very talented ex Miss South Africa, Kerishnie Naiker and featured Tata Madiba himself. The honor and privilege of being involved in such a project cannot be quantified and we look back fondly on this project, as we do all our others.

...and the company, which is now led by Jeff, Mike and Brett Thornley (who also happen to be Bob's proud Sons) continue the legacy of producing and staging great events for great companies. Thornleys Productions hope to carry on creating videos that are not only world class, but have the potential to change lives.

The bottom line is that we are a family business through and through, which means our name is on the side of the van and we take extreme pride in everything we do. For us it’s not just a job, it’s in our blood and we happen to be extremely good at doing it.

And the rest, as they say, is history!
