With all that has been going on over the past 2 years it is easy to forget that not everything is about Covid19 and that there are still millions of people suffering from various other diseases and illnesses, the most prevalent being Cancer.
Cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide and there is no doubt that each and every one of us has been affected in one way or another by this terrible disease. Whether it be something you have personally had to fight or maybe it’s something that has impacted a family member or friend, cancer is something we all need to pay attention to, and that’s exactly what the people at CANSA are committed to doing.
CANSA is a leader in the fight against cancer in South Africa, since 1931, the purpose of the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA), is to offer a unique, integrated service to the public and to all people affected by cancer.
One of their most popular awareness campaigns is the CANSA Shavathon, and this year, members of the Thornleys team, took part in this annual event to show their support and to help raise funds for those suffering from Cancer.
It certainly was a colorful affair and a fun day out with the team and a few of their family members, and we cannot wait for next years Shavathon where we are looking to try and get the entire team involved and “colored” up…. Someone may even be brave enough to go the distance and shave their entire head!
